Shit Fly Fishing Gals Say and Why It Matters
Traditionally a "for the boys" activities, more and more women are getting their lines wet at the local fishing hole, and that's a good thing (well, duh.) Sure more women tying on means more silly videos like the one above - and more inclusivity is always a good thing - but it goes beyond that.
According to Hilary Hutchinson, a fly fishing guide, women are more likely to focus on conservation education when learning to fish. Though they're still the majority, by far, women are leading the charge on taking a vocal stance when it comes to environmental matters that affect the fishing industry, and they're more likely to take on a stewardship role from the beginning of their fishing careers.
