I know you've heard this one before. It's the one about how a bike event (or any sporting event for that matter) can't seem to figure out how to budget equal prize purses for male and female competitors.

Luckily there are groups of both men and women who are fighting to change that. Last year, the JL Velo Giro di San Francisco became the first bike race in Northern California (and possibly the country) to have equal prize purses for both men and women. They did it through funds raised by the JL Velo Racing Team, Wheel Kids, and donations from individual supporters. The race returns this year on Sept. 4th at the Levi Plaza in San Francisco and you can help keep the legacy of equal prize purses alive. Show the world that you believe in supporting all genders in receiving equal pay in sports.

You can email the event organizer to become a sponsor or to make an individual donation by clicking this link.
